7 Tips for Making the Most of Your Commute

Commuting by electric bike is awesome, and becoming more and more popular every day! It saves you money, it's better for the environment, lets you get fresh air, and it might even take up less of your time.
SONDORS brings the rush to your rush-hour trek, allowing your senses to be stimulated, and to move your body without depleting your energy. So to really enjoy your experience on what would otherwise be an ordinary outing, we’re offering 7 tips to help you make the most of the commute to your office, school, or shopping destinations.
Make sure to wear a helmet, first and foremost. It’s just a smart thing to do. Then while you’re on the road, make sure to obey the rules of the road. Also smart. If you know you’ll be riding at night, be sure your SONDORS is equipped with reflective stickers and front + rear lights so you can be spotted with ease.
This also may seem elementary, yet it’s often something people forget to do. Double check that your battery is fully charged the night before your commute, because the last thing you want is to have your battery run out of juice in the middle of a hill.
Also the night before your commute, pack everything you’ll potentially need during and after the first leg of your ride. It’s always a good idea to check the weather for rain or snow so you can pack the right gear, because what may be worse than running out of battery is encountering an unexpected downpour on your way home! (If you want to transport your items with ease, you can shop for the perfect SONDORS accessories here.)
If you don’t plan on taking your SONDORS indoors at your destination, make sure you leave your house with a trustworthy bike lock. You can attach it right to your frame. Securing your SONDORS is essential because it can easily catch the eye of a thief, and then only one of you will be smiling at the end of the day!
Depending on the distance to your destination, there could be several possible routes available to you. There may be a shorter route that takes you through busy city streets with numerous intersections with traffic lights and pedestrian walkways. Alternatively, there may be a slightly longer route that takes you through a park. By picking the latter route, you’ll be assured a quieter and easier ride. Besides, taking in the scenery might just be the best way to start or end your day!
It all comes with experience. Once you’ve taken your desired route a few times, you’ll know better your own ability to navigate the terrain and your surroundings. This, in turn, will allow you to adjust your speed and properly allocate your time. Knowing what to anticipate ultimately means you’ll have fewer surprises and less to think about before and during your ride. Want to get to your destination fast and fresh? Put your SONDORS in Level 5, and let it do the work. Want a little more exercise? Put it in Level 1 or turn the power off, and it’s all you!
If you plan on commuting year round, you’ll need to adjust how you dress for each season. For example, it’s best to layer your clothing for cold weather to help your body stay dry and properly insulated. While there are a few general rules that will work for all seasons, you’ll likely need to develop your own additional rules to meet your particular circumstances. And if you’re riding when it’s dark outside, don’t forget to wear reflective clothing.

One last thing to consider: With all the money you’ll save in parking fees, transportation fees, or auto fuel, and by purchasing a SONDORS, be sure to treat yourself to something cool. Because after all, life’s a ride, and you gotta love your ride!
